Selimiye Mosque (St Sophia Cathedral)
Inside the Mosque - uncluttered and calm.
I'm sure someone will tell me what this is? It was surrounded by building materials and scaffolding, requiring careful cropping and retouching.
The trouble with digital cameras is that they try to make every scene uniformly bright. I deliberately stopped down the exposure to try and capture the actual lighting ambience.

Around the side of the Mosque.
This was a staging post for traders, but now it's a pretty courtyard of gift shops.
A little two storey building in the centre of BŁyŁk Han I should have taken a photo of. Up the steps, gingerly opened an old wooden door - and found myself looking into a tiny Mosque. As ever there is an air of uncluttered peace.
Cyprus did have a railway! This plinthed loco is the best they can do for us trainspotters!
